I am largely self-studying, but lessons with Rima have added considerably to my experience in speaking, reading and listening. Talking to an actual person in the target language is always far better than using books and recordings alone. It has been very useful to have someone to correct pronunciation issues and she has been able to explain various grammatical concepts which I was confused about. Rima provides a range of supplemental materials, and is able to discuss aspects of Arabic culture as they arise. She is enthusiastic, flexible and reliable. Rima is a very good tutor. She is very patient with beginners and knows very well what level to pace at to challenge you and increase your learning but not be overwhelming. She is very considerate and friendly. She really wants her students to learn and learn well, and tailors to their needs from the language (travel/conversation, academic, etc.). It was an absolute pleasure learning Arabic with Rima. My boyfriend had previously studied Arabic whereas I had never had any academic exposure. Rima was very patient and flexible with my odd working hours and always made an effort to teach me something a little bit new and different each lesson.
